Isolation family outings: Hike the dumpster trail

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (KNN) – A Terre Haute couple says they enjoyed a family trip to the dumpster on Thursday.

Parents Chris and Ami Essex bagged up two bags of trash to plan for the trip outdoors.

Parents say they they even included their four-year-old son on the trip.

“We made it a family event…we let Alex carry an empty Amazon box…he loved it. We spent over four minutes outside of our home,” Chris said.

While they say they are aware going outdoors with social distancing is an option – the weather hasn’t been great.

“We’ve been stuck. So the trip to the dumpster was great. We felt refreshed. We went back in to Disney Plus,” Ami said.

Parents say some of the essential things you’ll want to back for the journey are empty pizza boxes, the piled up empty chip bags and your shoes.

Some of the sites on this specific trail include parked cars, some dog poop, and that neighbor who needs new blinds.
