VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (KNN) – A local three-year-old is expected to avoid charges after parents said he ate half of a cookie meant for Santa.
It happened around 8:00 p.m on Christmas Eve.
Parents say Alex Essex helped put four cookies and some milk on the table for Santa. That is when Alex allegedly swiped half of a cookie.
His parents say he likely won’t face any charges, but they were worried about the extra sugar before bed time.
“Thankfully he went to sleep pretty easily. It worked out okay. He just needs to know not to do that again,” Alex’s mom, Ami, said.
At one point Alex allegedly said he would rather eat the cookies and let Santa fly by.
“Santa can’t want to stop,” Alex said. “I want more cookies.”
Parents say he even took a sip of the milk.
