VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (FTN) – An investigation is underway after a Terre Haute mom found a blue handprint on the family’s hallway wall.
The print was found just before 5:00 on Thursday.
According to 30-year-old Ami Essex, she spotted the handprint soon after putting her son, two-year-old Alex Essex in the bathtub.
She said Alex is her main suspect.
The two were reportedly working on a painting project right before the bath.
Ami said while Alex is her primary suspect, she can’t rule out their dog Anya or cat Jack.
“It appears to be a human handprint, but until forensics results return, we can’t be 100 percent sure,” Ami said.
She told us the paint was washable.
Alex would not face any timeout time if he is convicted.
The incident remains under investigation.
