Toddler claims eminent domain as he tries to annex mom’s office

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (FTN) – A Vigo County toddler claims he has the right to annex his mother’s home office in an eminent domain claim. FTN learned on Friday that two-year-old Alex Essex has slowly been turning his mother, Ami Essex’s office into a play room. Sources close to the situation say toys are taking over the room. “You have her desk in there…some office type stuff…but then toys everywhere,” our source, who said he is for sure not Alex’s dad told us. We reached out to Alex Essex for a comment, but only received a written response from his new attorney, a stuffed Olaf. “It is a clear case of eminent domain,” Olaf told us as he adjusted his carrot nose. “Alex is running out of space in his bedroom, and the living room, and parts of the dining room. He needs room to expand.”Ami Essex declined to comment when we reached out to her. “Toys…and toys…and books. He has too much stuff,” our source said. Any policy decisions need to be approved by a unanimous vote through the two parent committee. We will continue to follow this story and bring join more information as soon as it becomes available.
