TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (FTN) – A Terre Haute toddler is under fire after witnesses said he threatened a rideable toy horse with a severed horse head on a stick.
It allegedly happened Tuesday afternoon at the Bouncin Barn.
Witnesses tell FTN two-year-old Alex Essex took a horse head that was on a stick and repeatedly shoved it in the face of the rideable horse.
“It was shocking. What kind of parents allow their kid to do that?” An anonymous witness told us.
FTN obtained photos of the alleged incident.
Essex has eased off of his trips to the Bouncin Barn since he turned two and it wasn’t free anymore. His parents say he doesn’t actually like bouncing.
There’s no word yet on if there will be toy animal cruelty charges filed.
“We will need to investigate before we decide anything,” Sherifff Woody told us. “We take all claims of toy abuse seriously.”
We reached out to Essex’s parents for a comment. In an email Essex’s mother Ami said:
“He was just playing with the horse. He was trying to make them kiss I think.”
We will continue to follow this story and bring you new details as soon soon as they become available.
