VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (FTN) – Experts are warning of a growing trend after more and more toddlers are picking their nose, and posting it online.
It’s called “Picking and Chewsing.”
The use of the word chewsing, as opposed to choosing, is because some toddlers are eating their boogers when they are done picking.
The trend is said to be based purely on shock factor, but one local mom says it needs to stop.
“Every time I look at him, his finger is in his nose. It grosses me out. What does he hope to accomplish?” mother Ami Essex said.
Experts say while it is shocking to look at…there are no long-term health effects.
“It’s gross…no doubt about it,” Dr. J.J. Panda said. “Gross doesn’t mean dangerous. It is already something that is connected to the same portion of your body as your mouth. Your child will be fine…he just might get some odd looks.”
Have you noticed your child “Picking and Chewsing?”
